. . . . .
Marathon Pundit of Morton Grove Illinois has an Amazon link at his blogsite. If you click on it and order something, he makes a little $ which he then plows back into the blogsite or uses to purchase research books.
But the slobbering, salivating governor of that state is about to slap a 6.25% tax on everything purchased thru Marathon’s link, effectively putting that little revenue stream out of business.
Lawmakers in Illinois have voted for a 6.25% tax on online retail purchases. The levy, which still needs the governor’s approval, would apply to goods bought through affiliates of online retailers that take in least $10,000 worth of annual sales in the state.
Marathon got a letter from Amazon today. Here’s what it said. A sign of things to come as more state legislatures look for ways to pay for all those social programs…
Thanks Andrea!
Good luck John!
