To all Tea Party members:
I am attaching a link to the upcoming appropriations/government spending bill. This bill is necessary because the Pelosi/Reid Congress failed to pass any of the required appropriations bills that fund our Federal Government. When you open the link, scroll down to the chart at the bottom. Click on any agency (i.e. Dept. of Agric.) earmark chart…. and strap on your seatbelt. You will see page after page of earmarks! There is a chart for each of the twelve appropriations bills. All together, these 12 bills make up the full funding of our government. This bill is necessary because the lame duck Congress passed a simple extension of the funding when they first convened the lame duck in mid-November. The funding expires Saturday, Dec. 18.
http://appropriations.senate.gov/news.cfm
Back story
This Congress made history by being the first Congress EVER to fail to pass through both the House and Senate a single appropriations bill. Typically, Congresses spend most of their summer months considering these various 12 spending bill. As I said, when you marry all 12 bills together you get the full funding of our Federal Government. This giant appropriations bill is called an omnibus approps. bill. When Congress simply wants to extend exact same funding, they pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) which simply continues this funding.
Timing
The Omnibus bill that your are reading via the link will come up in the Senate either in the wee hours tonight, (After midnight) or tomorrow AM. The House passed a simple CR last week. The Senate will begin debating the CR and try to replace the simple funding extension with this omnibus bill. A procedural vote will be teed up to advance this omnibus bill. The cloture vote requires 60 votes to advance. Since the current Senate make-up is 58 (Dems/Indep) and 42 (GOP). The GOP leader has said he will fight this attempt to add this omnibus bill. However, Senator Cochran (R-MS) is joining Senator Inouye (D-HI) in offering this as the Chairman and Ranking on the Senate Approps comm.
I have heard that a few retiring GOP appropriators will join the Senate Democrats and Sen. Cochran and help vote to pass this bill. They are Sen. Bond (R-MO), Sen. Bennett (R-UT), Sen. Voinovich (R-OH).
Additionally, when the Senate begins this debate, either very late tonight or tomorrow AM, Senator DeMint (R-SC) is going to ask that the Senate clerk read the amendment out loud which is permitted in the Senate. The Omnibus approps. amdt. is 1924 pages long. The Senate clerks read about 40 pages an hour give or take the number of charts & graphs. Sen. DeMint is asking the Senate to take this extraordinary step in an effort to educate “We the People” as to this abuse of the legislative process.
Have fun with this and I will continue to give you all updates as things progress.
Keep the faith!

UPDATE - Earmarks are posted.
From Elizabeth Letchworth of GradeGov.com, our Capitol Hill insider:
The Senate is considering the global tax agreement post cloture. If all time is used under Rule 22 then the final vote will occur at 12:30AM. (nope that is not a typo)
After lunch, or sometime early evening, Senators Coburn and DeMint will offer motions to suspend the rules in order for their amdts to be in order. Remember this vote requires 67. The motions are:
Coburn–paying for Unemployment Insurance
Coburn–paying for Unemployment Insurance
DeMint–Making the tax cuts permanentIt is expected that these votes will be stacked to occur this PM. During the stacked roll call votes, I anticipate that many Senators will appeal to Sen. Sanders to let some time lapse on the 30 hours allowed post cloture so the final vote on the tax bill could occur before 12:30AM. Lets see how persuasive members of the Senate can be with Sen. Sanders.
Next up in the Senate will be the full funding of the CR. The Leader would like to bring this up immediately after passing the tax bill. It is anticipated that Sen. Reid will offer the Inouye/Cochran Omnibus bill as a subst. to the House passed CR. Sen. DeMint will ask that the clerk read the amdt in total. This is an effort to highlight the earmarks contained in the full year funding of the appropriations bills.
Expect the Senate to have to get cloture on the Inouye amdt. This will be a close vote in the Senate. Retiring GOP appropriators (Bennett, Voinovich, Bond) and Collins and Lugar are likely to support the Inouye/Cochran language notwithstanding Sen. McConnell opposing the full year funding. Sen. Feingold and Bayh are opposing as well as a couple of other Senate D’s. This could be a real nail biter!
If it fails to garner the needed 60 votes, Sen. Gregg will offer a short term CR to expire Feb., 2011. This too will need 60 votes to pass.
Expect the CR to move through the Senate Wed and Thursday of this week. Depending on the timing of the final vote on the tax bill, the CR could spill into Friday in the Senate. This would all but guarantee a weekend session for both the House and the Senate.

Doug Hagmann is steamed at men across America.
What could be more fundamentally important than ensuring that the person at the helm of our country, the Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful military in the world, the holder of the keys to the nation’s nuclear lockbox is indeed constitutionally eligible to hold this office? I see more outrage on Sunday afternoons by grown men living vicariously by dressing up in the jersey of their favorite football player when a receiver is declared ineligible.
Hagmann points out that despite rabid and consistently incorrect assertions to the contrary, Barack Hussein Obama has fought long and hard, and spent what many reliable reports suggest as well over a million dollars against releasing his birth certificate and numerous other documents relevant to his background.
[ ... ]
While the so-called men in our country are busily fretting over the news that Brett Favre is ending his NFL streak, there is one real man, an American patriot, whose own unblemished record is also coming to an end today. His name is Lt. Col. Terrence “Terry” Lakin, an Army flight surgeon with 18 years of honorable service to our country. His military court martial begins today, and by all accounts, he will be spending the next one to five years in Leavenworth.
Hagmann figuratively shakes his head with disgust that Favre has better name recognition than Lakin.
I doubt that the start of today’s court martial proceedings of this high ranking military official will receive much, if any, coverage by any of the mainstream talk show hosts regardless of the network. If there is any discussion devoted to the issue, it will likely be limited to the fact that Lt. Col. Lakin disobeyed a direct order and essentially invited his own court martial and paved his own destiny. Perhaps that is the case, or at least the most basic legal element of this case.
Hagmann notes that the majority of the mainstream conservative commentators and pundits will continue to ignore Lt. Col. Lakin and the larger eligibility issue or mock those who bring it up, even as they pay lip service to the Constitution of the United States.
These media pundits have been issued their “talking points” and a list of topics that are out of bounds. If they wish to continue with their comfortable media careers, they must not stray from the approved script.
His observation of the “conservative” blogging community echoes something I’ve observed since this whole sordid Obama eligibility mess began:
Members of the elite conservative bloggers who wish to remain on the “A” list of invitees to network and cable news shows must also conform to the topical standards and avoid devoting any virtual print space to this issue.
Whether a co-opted conservative pundit or blogger, or a progressive with an inherent disdain for such inconveniences as the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law, their responses or lack thereof will be similar.
History won’t remember Brett Favre and others except as footnotes to scandal-ridden careers that self-imploded. But men like LTC Terry Lakin will not be forgotten for taking on the corrupt establishment that sent our men and women into harm’s way.
God bless him.

Tonight — the results of the court-martial at Fort Meade, MD. from someone who was there — Dr. Kate Vandermoer joins us on
The Andrea Shea King Show with a full report.
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/askshow/2010/12/15/the-andrea-shea-king-show
Today is the day Army Ltc. Terry Lakin (M.D.) has his day in court, such that it is. There is little faith that the Army surgeon will receive the justice merited him and every other United States citizen.
Here’s the background from the PostEMail:
On March 30, 2010, Lakin announced in a video that he could no longer comply with any orders issued from his military superiors, as his question regarding the eligibilityof the putative commander-in-chief had gone unanswered for more than a year.
Lakin’s decision was based on the fact that no conclusive proof that Obama was born in Hawaii, as he claims, has ever been presented. Rather, evidence exists which points to a birth in Kenya as claimed by Atty. Philip Berg in a lawsuit filed in Pennsylvania which eventually reached the U.S. Supreme Court but was dismissed.
There have been several reports in African newspapers that Obama was born in Kenya or Tanzania, and his wife Michelle has also described Kenya as Obama’s “home country.” How, then, can he be considered a “natural born Citizen” in keeping with the U.S. Constitution’s requirement for President and Commander-in-Chief?
Some arguments state that since Obama’s father was never a U.S. citizen, that alone disqualifies him from “natural born” status. Others have asked if Obama, having been born of a British citizen father and presumably an American mother, can be eligible based on his dual citizenship, which Obama has freely admitted to having.
There is also the issue of his possible Indonesian citizenship and whether or not that expired or was forfeited by Obama when he reached the age of majority.
The American Patriot Foundation, which has lent its support to Lt. Col. Lakin’s case, states that “only citizens who are “natural born” Americans are eligible for election to the presidency…if Barack Obama was born outside of the United States, he cannot constitutionally hold the office to which he was elected in 2008. This status is only established at birth, and can never be won or gained.”
Our prayers are with this brave American patriot.
This came to me by email this morning. I think you’ll agree that the writer puts it all in perspective. Thank God we have such men as these.

Lt.Colonel Terrence LakinDear Colonel Lakin,
May many prayers rise to Heaven on your behalf tomorrow in Court.
Below is a citation taken from a book which I bought many years ago and have just re-read it about two weeks ago. Entitled “But Not In Shame” by author John Toland (copyright 1961) it covers the first six months of WW II in the Pacific, from Pearl Harbor to Midway. A particular paragraph (page 290) caught my attention. It concerns General MacArthur’s instructions from President Roosevelt to leave The Philippines (with Japanese occupation imminent) and to go to Australia.
General MacArthur said he was leaving The Philippines “only because of insistent, repeated orders from President Roosevelt. At first he had told his staff he would refuse, but they convinced him that defying The President’s direct order would bring disciplinary action.”
Colonel, no one told General MacArthur that he should only concern himself about obeying orders from his immediate superior, which is what the Army told you about your challenging Barack Obama’s presidential eligibility. If the President (Roosevelt) spoke they felt that General MacArthur was obligated to obey his order. All of this, however, was under the belief that President Roosevelt was properly vetted and had been eligible to the Office of President.
In Obama’s case, however, millions of Americans do not believe that he was lawfully elected President yet he refuses to provide any legitimate proof of eligibility to anyone and has not even extended the courtesy of responding to your multiple letters to him; letters which simply asked him to prove his eligibility.
Nothing Obama does will tarnish your bronze star which gleams thanks to your standing up for the United States Constitution and Country.
God willing, may America stand up and thank you for your service by preventing the injustice looming before you.
With kindest regards and admiration,
Robert Quinn

Dear Fellow Conservatives:
Many of you have contacted me about the bipartisan tax deal reached between President Obama and Republican leaders. I’ve carefully reviewed the legislation and I wanted to explain to you why I cannot support it.
First, I do not want to see anyone’s taxes go up and I have been fighting for years to permanently extend all the tax rates. I disagree with the President that we cannot afford to extend these rates for everyone. It’s the people’s money and we should not raise taxes on hardworking American families.
But this bill does much more than simply extend tax rates.
For starters, it includes approximately $200 billion in new deficit spending and stimulus gimmicks. That’s a lot of money that will have to be borrowed from China and repaid by our children and grandchildren. If we’re going to increase spending on new programs, we must reduce other spending to pay for it.
The bill also only extends rates for two years. We don’t have a temporary economy so we shouldn’t have temporary tax rates. Individuals and businesses make decisions looking at the long-term and we’re not going to create jobs without giving people certainty as to what their taxes will be in future.
The bill also fails to extend all of the tax rates. It actually increases the death tax from its current rate of zero percent all the way up to 35 percent. One economic study shows that this tax increase alone will kill over 800,000 jobs over the next ten years.
Finally, the bill now includes dozens of earmarks for special interests, including ethanol subsidies, tax breaks for film and television producers, give aways for Puerto Rican rum manufacturers, favors for auto racing track owners, and a hand out for businesses in American Samoa.
The President called Republicans “hostage takers” this week but he should be pointing his figure squarely at himself. We’ve known for years that these tax rates were going to expire but he did nothing about it until the last minute. Now Americans are being told they have to accept hundreds of billions in new spending and stimulus gimmicks, an increase the death tax, and a bunch of unnecessary earmarks or their taxes will go up.
I’m not going to be bullied into voting for things that will hurt our country because politicians in Washington ignored the problem until it was a crisis.
Many of you fought hard to elect new leaders to the Senate this year with the expectation that they would fight deficit spending, tax hikes, and backroom deals. I take that commitment very seriously and I’m prepared to vote against this bill even if I’m the only one in the Senate to do so.
I appreciate the efforts made by my party’s leaders to negotiate this deal but I believe Americans deserve much better. This deal should be rejected and then fixed. We can easily extend these tax rates without increasing spending once the new crop of Republican senators, including Pat Toomey, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Ron Johnson, are sworn in. The President has already conceded that taxes cannot go up and we’ll have more Republicans in Congress in a few weeks to fight for a better deal.
Thank you for supporting the principles of freedom and for your continued encouragement. I will continue to do my very best to be your voice in the United States Senate.
Respectfully, Jim DeMint – United States Senator

WikiLeaks data now on 1800 sitesPosted: December 14, 2010 In last week’s Surfin’ Safari, I reported that the whistleblowing site WikiLeaks could be transformed from a handful of volunteers to a global movement. One week later, there are more than 1,800 websites now hosting WikiLeaks in different languages and locales. And while WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is in a British jail, some of his former staffers led by Daniel Domscheit-Berg have launched a competing site for whistleblowers called OpenLeaks. Domscheit-Berg, Assange’s former right-hand man, left last September, according to DN.se, after bristling under Assange’s autocratic ways. WatchWikiRebels, the self-explaining documentary. |

From the gang at I Own the World…
author unknown-
As 2010 nears the end, I want to thank all of you for your educational e-mails over the past year. I am totally messed up now and have little chance of recovery.
I no longer open a bathroom door without using my foot or a paper towel, or have the waitress put lemon slices in my ice water because she doesn’t use her foot in the bathroom.
I can’t sit down on the hotel bedspread because I’m imagining what sort of peep show booth floor would be revealed to me under a black light.
I have trouble shaking hands with someone who has been driving because the number one pastime while driving alone is picking one’s nose.
I can’t touch any woman’s purse for fear she has placed it on the floor of a public restroom.
I MUST SEND MY SPECIAL THANKS to whoever sent me the one about rat shit in the glue on envelopes because now I use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing.
ALSO, now I have to scrub the top of every can I open because rats shit and f*ck on them in the warehouse.
I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick kid in England who is about to die for the 1,387,258th time.
I no longer have any money, but that will change once I receive the $15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program.
I can’t have a drink in a bar because I’ll wake up in a bathtub full of ice with my kidneys gone.
I can’t eat at KFC because their chickens are actually horrible mutant freaks with no eyes, feet or feathers.
I can’t use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a NYC cab driver in August.
THANKS TO YOU I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward an e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes.
BECAUSE OF YOUR CONCERN, I no longer drink Coca Cola because it can remove toilet stains.
I no longer buy gas without taking someone along to watch the car so a serial killer doesn’t crawl in my back seat while I’m paying inside.
I no longer use Saran Wrap in the microwave because it causes seven different types of cancer.
AND THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW I can’t boil a cup of water in the microwave anymore because it will blow up in my face, disfiguring me for life.
I no longer go to the movies because I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS when I sit down.
I no longer go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.
I no longer buy cookies from Neiman-Marcus since I now have their secret recipe.
THANKS TO YOU I can’t use anyone’s toilet but mine because a big black snake could be lurking under the seat and cause me instant death when it bites my ass.
AND THANKS TO YOUR GREAT ADVICE I can’t ever pick up a coin dropped in the parking lot because it probably was placed there by a butt f*cker waiting for me to bend over.
I can’t do any gardening because I’m afraid I’ll get bitten by the Violin Spider and my hand will fall off.
Oh, by the way….. A German scientist from Argentina , after a lengthy study, has discovered that people with insufficient brain activity will read this with their hand on the mouse.
Don’t bother taking it off now, it’s too late.
P. S.: I now keep my toothbrush in the living room, because I was told by e-mail that water splashes over 6 ft. out of the toilet.
NOW YOU ALL HAVE YOURSELVES A VERY GOOD DAY…………..AND A HEALTHY LIFE…………….
