God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” — Genesis 1:28
Thursday night on The ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW — 9p ET
More than 30,000 people make their home on Cape Hatteras on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Six million more visit the barrier island each year to fish, swim, and enjoy the area’s natural beauty. But for the past couple of years, the beaches of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore have been closed to all. Why? The piping plover. This little bird is killing the economy and livelihood of the residents of one of the loveliest areas on the eastern seaboard. All because of a handful of environmentalists — eco-terrorists — who have used pseudo-science to determine that the birds are more important than the people who also inhabit the area.
Tonight we’re talking with three of Buxton, NC’s businessmen whose businesses are dying — join us as we hear from Hal Lester, owner of Finnegan’s Restaurant; John Couch, owner of Red Drum Texaco and president of the Outer Banks Preservation Society; and Donnie Bowers, professional photographer and owner of Indian Town Gallery. You’ll see them in the videos below.
I learned about this story from blogger Brutally Honest Rick who recently vacationed in the area. Shortly thereafter, he wrote this at his website:
A week ago I vacationed in the area covered in the following piece… I saw the signs and didn’t understand them all, didn’t understand the driving forces behind them… I do now… and I’m enraged… you will be enraged… you need to watch the whole damned thing… you need to watch those impacted by environmental thuggery… then you need to pass this on… this needs to go viral… do your part:
Remember the “eminent domain” land takeover in New Jersey? Hawaii? Kentucky? Remember Kelo vs. New London Ct? Think this could happen to you?
Join us this evening to meet Hal, John and Donnie — three men whose small businesses are becoming extinct. Unlike the protected piping plover…
Our topic for tonight’s show with Elizabeth Letchworth of GradeGov.com, who brings us news from Capitol Hill every Wednesday evening at 9p ET on THE ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW — the “backstory” behind today’s action in Congress
39 Dems Break Rank in Adjournment Vote
Pelosi Casts Tie-breaker
“Virtually every politically vulnerable Democrat, ranging from Bobby Bright of Alabama to Stephanie Herseth Sandlin of South Dakota to Frank Kratovil of Maryland, voted against adjourning the House,” Politico reports, “believing they should stick around to extend the tax cuts.”
Many Democrats have been breaking with their party’s agenda as Americans increasingly grow disgruntled with the party’s track record in Congress. Breaking rank, then, may be a last-ditch effort to show that the candidates are more loyal to their constituencies than their party.
The vote to adjourn does not mean an immediate departure for the Representatives. As The Hillreports, the House still has to vote on several issues, including a measure to keep the federal government operating through Dec. 3, before it adjourns.
Join us at 9p ET for the story behind the headlines with Elizabeth Letchworth.
Glenn: ”The story is the NYT hired a freelance reporter that didn’t want to do the story because he thought I’d be uninteresting, and he was fair, did his homework, there’s some things in here really I’m not happy about, and that’s OK. It was fair. Did he get everything right? The real story is the NYT writes a fair piece. The guy took three months to write this story. It is interesting.
There’s a part in here that talks about some of my business partners who aren’t happy with me and I just — cause the media’s going to make a big deal out of this, this is their point of interest — here’s what I would say: In what world does someone who speaks their mind and says things that are controversial and admits this is unpopular stuff… does everyone in that person’s life say “its the greatest thing ever”… I mean my wife doesn’t even say that.
But isn’t disagreement what makes us stronger? I don’t want everyone to be in lockstep . If there are naysayers around me, of course there are. In my own company! What’s amazing… the people who I hire don’t agree with me. I hire voices that challenge me every step of the way. I hire people who have principles. We agree on the big things. Value and principles.”
Here’s the portion Glenn’s referring to which — coincidentally? — I had already dropped in here to comment on (b/f emphasis mine):
To some degree, all of Fox News’s top opinion personalities have side ventures — speeches, books, radio — that can invite static from the network. In April, for instance, Fox News bosses vetoed a planned appearance by Hannity at a fund-raiser for a Tea Party group in Cincinnati. But more than any other person at Fox News, Beck operates as a stand-alone entity. He is the only major personality at the network whose office is not at Fox News headquarters in the News Corp building (Mercury is a few blocks down Sixth Avenue). He employs his own publicist, Matthew Hiltzik, a communications consultant who is the son of Beck’s agent, George Hiltzik. Beck receives a $2.5 million salary from Fox News, which bumps to $2.7 million next year, the last of the contract. It is a small fraction of Beck’s revenues, the bulk of which he brings in from his radio and print deals.
“There is always going to be the person within the organization who may take issue with or doesn’t like the way the network is programming certain things,” says Cheatwood, the Fox News executive who oversees Beck’s show. “I allow for that anywhere. But in terms of the relationship between Fox and Glenn, it’s extremely solid.”
Ailes, who declined to comment for this article, has generally been supportive of Beck. But he has also been vocal around the network about how Beck does not fully appreciate the degree to which Fox News has made him the sensation he has become in recent months. In the days following Beck’s Lincoln Memorial rally, which by Beck’s estimate drew a half-million people, Ailes told associates that if Beck were still at Headline News, there would have been 30 people on the Mall. Fox News devoted less news coverage to the rally than CNN and MSNBC did, which Beck has pointed out himself on the air.
Off-the-record sniping shoots in both directions. You can view some of this as positioning for what could be a contentious contract negotiation. But the friction is evident in many areas. When I mentioned Beck’s name to several Fox reporters, personalities and staff members, it reliably elicited either a sigh or an eye roll. Several Fox News journalists have complained that Beck’s antics are embarrassing Fox, that his inflammatory rhetoric makes it difficult for the network to present itself as a legitimate news outlet. Fearful that Beck was becoming the perceived face of Fox News, some network insiders leaked their dissatisfaction in March to The Washington Post’s media critic, Howard Kurtz, a highly unusually breach at a place where complaints of internal strains rarely go public.
While Beck’s personal ventures and exposure have soared this year, his television ratings have declined sharply — perhaps another factor in the network’s impatience. His show now averages two million viewers, down from a high of 2.8 million in 2009, according to the Nielsen Ratings. And as of Sept. 21, 296 advertisers have asked that their commercials not be shown on Beck’s show (up from 26 in August 2009). Fox also has a difficult time selling ads on “The O’Reilly Factor” and “Fox and Friends” when Beck appears on those shows as a guest. Beck’s show is known in the TV sales world as “empty calories,” meaning he draws great ratings but is toxic for ad sales. If nothing else, I sensed that people around Fox News have grown weary after months of “It’s all about Glenn.” I was sitting with Bill Shine, the director of programming, on the Wednesday after the “Restoring Honor” event, which was held on a Saturday and still drawing analysis in the news media four days later. At the end of a half-hour interview in which Shine spoke well of Beck, a look of slight irritation flashed his face. He shook his head slightly. “The president of the United States ends the war in Iraq,” Shine said, which Obama did the night before in a speech from the Oval Office, “and on Wednesday we’re still talking about Glenn Beck.”
Regular viewers of Fox News have seen evidence of the eyerolls (Shepard Smith) and have wondered out loud why the Fox Newsroom staff does not pick up on and run with the information Beck reveals. Why the news operation is seemingly divorced from the facts Beck brings forth through his research (he has his own team of researchers). And why the supposed “news operation” side isn’t doing their own digging for these indisputable facts?
I think it’s accurate to say the “news”room simply isn’t interested in appearing to be “controversial” beyond the guardrails and parameters Ailes has constructed. Not interested in possibly alienating viewers, advertisers, or — God forbid — those all important Washington connections — by pointing to the naked emperor ( or empty suit, pick your own descriptor) in the White House and his communist/marxist pals. ”Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future”, Glenn often says.
Add that many of the reporters who inhabit the supposed “right leaning” news operation are liberals… one wonders if Ailes and his executives hire these journalists precisely because they are liberal and good looking. (Ever see a Candy Crowley type on Fox? Never. And you never will. ) Someone recently observed that Fox News sells sex. All the world’s a stage, and Ailes’ is peopled by bottle blonde, slick lipped, fake-eyelashed Barbie doll cheerleaders and perfectly coiffed and tailored Ken dolls whose personal point of view leans left. (Catch the smirk on “Campaign Carl” Cameron’s face when he’s reporting on conservatives like Palin or O’Donnell.) The amount of time devoted to glitzy tabloid journalism is a constant annoyance to those of us who want real news that matters about what our government and its minions in the unions, etc are doing. Shepard Smith’s newsblocks filled with “alligator eats dog” or “plane lands with sparks at JFK” stories could disappear and I wouldn’t miss them. Would you?
Beck has one year left on his contract with Fox. Will he renew? No one knows at this point. But my prediction, one I’ve mentioned on these pages several times before — and for what it’s worth — Beck will leave Fox to continue producing programming from his own TV studio (his documentary about the 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally Behind the Scenes will “air” online tonight) where he will stream it for a fee, and perhaps syndicate his programming to other outlets. Maybe even create his own TV network.
Fox “News” is a stepping stone for Glenn. I think he knows it. Mercury Radio Arts, the media empire Beck is building, could very well one day eclipse Fox News’ faux reputation for “right leaning fair and balanced news.”
BONUS: Gallup says Americans really distrust the media. Quelle surprise!
In the meantime, here’s Glenn Beck TV show from yesterday. Any reports from the Fox Newsroom about this???

Blogger Dave (ThirdWaveDave) Logan succinctly articulated what many Americans are thinking in a post about Bob Woodward’s latest book, Obama’s Wars:
“Bob Woodward’s new book reveals some things about Obama’s mindset that boggle the mind. Can you imagine what our in-country GIs are thinking now? Their families, and the families who’ve had their loved ones come home wounded or KIA? What have we done?”
But Woodward’s Obama’s Wars isn’t the only new release eliciting outrage from Americans and a storm of controversy about Barack Obama’s prosecution of the war against Islamofascism.
Retired Air Force LTC Buzz Patterson’s new book Conduct Unbecoming: How Barack Obama is Destroying the Military and Endangering our Security goes a step further, revealing the thinking of our men and women in uniform who can’t speak out for themselves.
During an interview on my radio program Tuesday (9/21/10), Patterson tells of our military’s deep discontent and frustration with their anti-American Commander in Chief.
“I’m talking to the troops daily — very high ranking people,” Patterson begins. “They are disillusioned. They are unmotivated. They want to win this war.”
“We’ve lost a lot of really, really good people who sacrificed for this war against this global ideological enemy that is radical Islamic fundamentalism. Some very good friends of mine have died in this conflict. And I can’t believe that we are going to, at this point, allow those sacrifices to go by the board. I can’t believe we’ve got troops who are patrolling in Afghanistan right now without bullets in their guns. I can’t believe we’ve gotten to the point where we are right now with this guy as our Commander in Chief. Now, I pray for him daily. I’m a Christian. I pray for him, I pray for our nation, I pray for our guys and girls in uniform. But it’s not looking good on that front.”
Many Americans were stunned when Gen. Petraeus — from his command in the war zone — departed from military protocol to openly issue a statement about the media-generated international frenzy over a domestic issue. But Patterson says it wasn’t Gen. Petraeus’ idea to do it. The words were put in his mouth by the White House.
“When Gen. Petraeus came out and talked about the pastor there in Florida that was threatening to burn Korans, and Petraeus made the comment ‘Please don’t do that’, well, my buddy who works with Gen. Petraeus said that directive for Petraeus to say that came directly from the Obama Administration. They told Petraeus to say that. It’s all being done from the Oval Office on Pennsylvania Avenue.
“I really find it alarming that we’ve got good people, especially David Petraeus kind of in the middle here being used as a political puppet on Barack Obama’s behalf. And to me, with all the other things — with the Code Pink allegations, the Rules of Engagement, all of which I talk about in the book — the bottom line is that Barack Obama has no understanding of the military culture. He has no leadership qualities whatsoever. He is so ill-equipped and unqualified for the position. And he continues to put our guys and girls in harm’s way.”

Lorie Jewell/Multi-National Forces Iraq Public Affairs via Getty Images) *** Local Caption *** David Petraeus, Barack Obama (July 21, 2008 - Photo by SSG Lorie Jewell/Getty Images Europe)
Patterson says Obama has yet to make good on his agreement to relax the Rules of Engagement hampering our troops in the war zone. He cites trusted sources close to the General.
“I’ve got a very close friend working for Gen. Petraeus right now. And Petraeus took the job only because Obama asked him to.”
With a caveat. “When he asked the president if he could please change the rules of engagement that are getting our guys killed in Afghanistan, Obama said yes. Well to date, as of about three hours ago, I talked to my buddy over in Kabul, they have NOT been changed. So we’ve still got Marines patrolling without bullets in their guns, we still have Air Force AC-130 Spectre gunships patrolling at night with infrared technology and if they do locate a Taliban or al Qaeda stronghold, they still can’t shoot. So we’ve changed the quarterback, but the team owner hasn’t changed the way the team’s being run. It’s really sad because my buddies see it constantly in Afghanistan. I’ve got a good friend in Iraq as well, and nothing’s changed in Iraq, quite frankly.”
Patterson’s sources tell him more.
“When Barack Obama issued this edict about combat operations being over in Iraq in late August, well, you know what? We’re still in combat in Iraq. Because all he did by doing that was invite more terrorists, more insurgents into Iraq to try to fight and kill more Americans that are still there. Fifty thousand American military folks are still there, 5,000 special forces are still there, we’re still fighting, we’re still in combat operations in Iraq. Whether Barack Obama deems it so or not, we’re still in combat.”
The Pentagon brass seemingly aren’t much help either.
“It’s become a very politically correct Pentagon, and I talk about this in Conduct Unbecoming also, that the people Barack Obama has put in the Pentagon, all the way down… I mean, Gen. McChrystal was Barack Obama’s guy until he fired him.”
“As I was doing my research across a whole number of different things about Obama, I ran across yours and Kristinn’s work about Jodie Evans, who I knew. I actually met Medea Benjamin personally, the other co-founder of Code Pink, and I despise the lady completely. You guys did so much great work and insight into who Jodie Evans was and her affiliation with Barack Obama. I mean, she got him elected in California! She was the person who pulled together the most radical elite in Hollywood and got Barack Obama the funding to get his campaign off the mark and get him elected. Jodie Evans and Medea Bejamin took over $600,000 in aid and support and gave that to the terrorists in Fallujah in 2005 who were fighting and killing U.S. Marines. Now if that’s not treason, it’s at least sedition. And Barack Obama has not only used her as a fundraiser, he’s had her to his White House as a personal guest since then. So again, who the guy surrounds himself with is very, very telling. He has spent his entire lifetime associating with domestic terrorists and anti-Americans Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers, and Frank Marshall Davis, but now he’s got Jodie Evans and he still calls her a friend.
Patterson says Obama’s worldview of his own nation is that of a foreigner.

“Whether or not he was born in Hawaii or Kenya doesn’t really matter because the bottom line is that through a foreign lens he sees America as being an unexceptional country. He even compares us to Luxembourg and Ghana in terms of our importance in the world. That’s why I think he’s compelled to go around the world and apologize for us. So when he coddles our enemies and shows the back of his hand to our allies, it shows to me… he’s still an unAmerican.
“He was raised a Muslim in a communist household: his mom was a communist, his dad was a communist, his grandparents were communists, his most important parental mentor growing up — Frank Marshall Davis — was a communist. There’s no doubt in my mind — and I was born red, white and blue, loved my country, served my country — Barack Obama never gave a second thought to joining the military, serving in the military. He’s always been about being anti-America and anti-military and now we have him as our commander in chief. We’ve given the keys — it’s like giving the keys to the car to a drunk teenager. We’ve given the keys to the 2.3 million people in the military to the communist organizer Barack Obama.”
In a Constitutional crisis, where will the military stand? With chain of comand or the Constitution?
“Ultimately the military will stand with the Constitution. One quarter of 2.3 million people will consider leaving the military if Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is repealed. During a time of war! Is that what we want? So I’m not quite sure what would happen if it comes down to a Constitutional crisis. But I can tell you right now just the DADT repeal will force a quarter of the military people to leave.
“We have elected the most radical, unorganized, ill-equipped, unprofessional commander in chief in our nation’s history. The guy that got Obama nominated and elected is George Soros. And I have a whole chapter in the book about how George Soros was so bitterly angry at George Bush and Bush’s success with John Kerry in 2004 that he got Barack Obama to be the annointed one. And George Soros’ big money is what has been behind, is behind and will be behind Barack Obama.”
Patterson explained he wrote Conduct Unbecoming for two reasons: ”November of 2010 and November of 2012.”
“We’ve got to make changes. We’ve got to seize our country back. I’m a Glenn Beck afficionado. The guy is right on the money. Whether they’re Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent, Tea Party, I don’t really care. I want leadership. We have a complete vacuum and void in this nation and it starts in the Oval Office.
“Our guys and girls in uniform do not and cannot have a voice. They’re not allowed, they’re legally constrained from having a political opinion and voicing their opinions. What I’m trying to do with my books is be the mouthpiece for the guys and girls in uniform who can’t do it for themselves. I’ve been there and done that kind of thing, and I have friends who are still out there doing it. My charter in life now as an old retired guy is to try to come out and tell you what they think without them having to do it. It’s my pleasure, it’s my privilege, and though I’ve retired from the Air Force, I’m still trying to serve in some capacity.”

Glenn Beck spent his entire TV show talking about it today. Kristinn Taylor and I wrote about it for BIG Government last weekend. It’s the One Nation rally set for this weekend at the Lincoln Memorial — an attempt to best the 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally. The event is sponsored by dozens of communist organizations, socialist unions, and others, including a special invite by Obama.
Tonight Kristinn and I take up where Glenn Beck left off. Join us at 9 for an informational hour and get caught up on who the enemies of our country REALLY are.
As Glenn says, once you know who’s surrounding Obama and choking our freedom, you won’t be able to sleep. Link to show:
Our latest report about America’s domestic enemies is up at Big Government. Cliff Kincaid is also writing about Bill Ayers and his pals. Read it here. It’s all of a piece with Glenn Beck’s Monday program. Coincidence? Divine…
America, the enemy of our enemy is not our friend… they are our enemy.

Steve Bannon dropped in on Monday night’s show to tell us about the third in a trilogy of Citizens United Productions docufilms about the movement to recapture America from the socialist Left that is just determined to “fundamentally transform it.”
Titled “Battle for America”, it features Dick Morris, Ann Coulter, Newt Gingrich, Fred Barnes and others. Here’s the trailer for the film, which premieres this Thursday in Washington DC.
Looks like show producer Dave Logan did all the heavy lifting to let everyone know about tonight’s radio program!
Lou Barletta, mayor of Hazleton, Pa, will be Andrea’s guest this evening. Mayor Barletta is running for congress in PA’s 11 district and is up against a 13-term incumbent. The latest polling shows Barletta leading his opponent.
Mayor Barletta rocketed to national fame with his strong stance on illegal immigrants in the city of Hazleton; a stance that brought with it attacks from all sides. Today, illegal immigration is just one of the important issues that must be dealt with, and tonight Andrea will be covering some of those issues with Mayor Barletta.

Meg Whitman has taken soooooooooooooooooooo lonnnnnnnng to take an actual position on Prop 23 — the measure that would essentially cripple California’s landmark climate change law — that she’s getting some late-inning lobbying from the Tea Party Express — yes, the same crew that just sent $600 K to Alaska for to help an unknown Tea P’er there, Joe Miller, defeat incumbent Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, to win the GOP Senate nod.
You know what they call $600,000 down at Whitman HQ? Enough for a staff lunch. Then again, they’ve never really felt a Tea Party wave crash down on them…will it arrive?
Tea Party Express organizer Joe Wierzbicki just sent an all-points bulletin to his Tea peeps asking them to bombard Whitman HQ with calls and emails. Oh, that’s never pretty.
Here’s what he’s nattering about…
Fellow California Conservatives:
I have an urgent political development that needs your immediate attention.
Many of you know me from my work as Coordinator for the Tea Party Express. However, today I’m writing to you as an individual — a fellow conservative here in the Golden State.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman is reportedly on the verge of opposing Proposition 23. This would be terrible news. As you know, Prop 23 would repeal AB 32, The anti-business, job-killing California Global Warming Solution Act, which is based completely on junk science.
Radical environmentalists and socialist liberals are putting the pressure on Republicans to come out and oppose Prop 23. They’ve already got Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on board. Now they are trying to pressure our next prospective Republican Governor, Meg Whitman.
We have to fight back and make sure Meg Whitman’s campaign hears from those of us who want a return to common-sense solutions that strengthen our economy and reduces the burden of government on our families (some estimates put the cost per family of AB 32 at $4,000 for each California family – that’s why we must pass Prop 23 and reduce this big government, leftist Global Warming policy once and for all).
Meg Whitman is supposed to make her decision on whether to support or oppose Prop 23 by Friday, so we have little time to act. Please forward this email to all of your conservative friends and take the following simple steps below:
I am asking you to join me in contacting Meg Whitman’s campaign and delivering this simple message in a polite manner: Please Support Prop 23.
* You can call Whitman campaign advisor, Jeff Randle, at: (916) 448-5802
* And please email the Whitman campaign at: Communications@MegWhitman.com
Well, what are you waiting for? Conservatives in California need all the help they can get. Peg the needle, put the peddle to the metal and put the pressure on Meg.
A friend sent these photos of a devastating oil spill last week, saying they were taken July 17, 2010 in Dalian, China. I sent them to a friend who sent them on to another friend (stay with me here…) who lives in China, and she wrote:
“I had heard of it…but the Chinese press keeps a lid on anything that could be construed by the rest of the world that it has a problem with anything…the power of the Press over here is immense…just like this leak…but unlike the BP fiasco…I believe the government stepped in immediately and got it under control….”
Last July in the northeastern port city of Dalian, China, two oil pipelines exploded, sending flames hundreds of feet into the air and burning for over 15 hours, destroying several structures – the cause of the explosion is under investigation. The damaged pipes released thousands of gallons of oil, which flowed into the nearby harbor and the Yellow Sea. The total amount of oil spilled is still not clear, though China Central Television earlier reported an estimate of 1,500 tons (400,000 gallons), as compared to the estimated 94 – 184 million gallons in the BP oil spill off the Louisiana coast. The oil slick has now grown to at least 430 square kilometers (165 sq mi), forcing beaches and port facilities to close while government workers and local fishermen work to contain and clean up the spill. — Boston.com

Firefighters walk near an oil pipeline blast site in Dalian, Liaoning province, China early on July 17, 2010. Firefighters later extinguished the fire that raged for more than 15 hours after two oil pipelines exploded in the port of Dalian, the Xinhua news agency said. More than 2,000 firefighters were mobilized to tackle the spectacular blaze. Dozens of oil-skimming vessels were working to remove a growing slick in the water off the port city following a weekend pipeline explosion and fire. Dalian’s Xingang oil port has resumed some loadings for refined fuel for the domestic market, but fuel exports remain temporarily halted, industry officials said, as the oil spill clean-up is still under way.

Steve is a commercial pilot who lives in and flies over Alaska. He’s also a pretty good photographer. Earlier this week, our friend Vic from Arizona introduced us by sending me some of Steve’s photos. Since then, I’ve asked Steve if I can post them. His reply?
I am a commercial pilot. I work and live in Alaska and have been here about 35 years. I have flown all over the state and had many occasions to take pictures. You can post anything I send. My political views are pretty simple. America is headed for the toilet and I intend to ride out the storm in Alaska because Alaska tends to be somewhat independent of the garbage that goes on in the lower 48. We do have problems. The two main ones are mosquitoes and the federal government; not necessarily in that order.

The tea party group helping to upset the status quo in several races this election year is coming back to Alaska to fulfill a vow to do whatever it takes to beat U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
Tea Party Express spokesman Levi Russell said Wednesday that the group plans to be in Alaska in about a week and will unveil a new ad campaign in support of Republican Joe Miller.
It’s been a while since Dan Friedman’s writings have graced these pages. He’s back. Don’t miss what he has to say:
Crypto-anti-Zionist J Street is a 501(c)(4) organization, allowing it to keep the source of its funding under wraps. But Eli Lake, an enquiring reporter from the Washington Times, got a peek anyway and here’s what he found:
The Jewish-American advocacy group J Street, which bills itself as the dovish alternative to the influential American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) lobby, has secretly received funding from billionaire George Soros despite previous denials that it accepted funds from the Hungarian-born financier and liberal political activist.
Tax forms obtained by The Washington Times reveal that Mr. Soros and his two children, Jonathan and Andrea Soros, contributed a total $245,000 to J Street from one Manhattan address in New York during the fiscal year from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.
The contributions represent a third of the group’s revenue from U.S. sources during the period. Nearly half of J Street’s revenue during the timeframe — a total of $811,697 — however, came from a single donor in Happy Valley, Hong Kong, named Consolacion Esdicul.
