. . . . .

Join us tonight on my radio show when we’ll talk to David Codrea of The Examiner.com and Mike Vanderbeogh of Sipsey Street Irregulars about this criminal action by ATF and the Obama Administration.

9 pm ET on Blog Talk Radio.  Click here to listen.  Call-in 646-478-4604.  Don’t miss it.

Only on The Andrea Shea King Show.

Agent John Dodson, BATFE whistleblower

This is right up there with Iran Contra and Watergate.

First a little background…

I came across the Sipsey Street Irregulars blogsite a couple of days ago when one of our program listeners — GhostfighterRadio — sent me an email about this. So I clicked over to Sipsey Street and what I read there was shocking.

Folks, do you know what’s going on with Project Gunrunner?  Have you even heard of it? It’s a conspiracy that could bring down the House of Obama.

The upper management at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, seemingly with a green light from the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security, was allowing thousands of semiautomatic firearms to be purchased from Phoenix-area gun shops by drug cartel criminals who then walked these weapons across the Mexican border.

A gun used in this operation was involved in a December 2010 incident in which US Border Patrol agent Jaime Zapata Brian Terry (my error) was killed. According to Mike Vanderbeogh at SipseyStreetIrregulars blog,

Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and Immigration Agent Jaime Zapata were gunned down in separate incidents involving suspected Mexican drug cartel members. Two AK-47 assault-type variant rifles that ATF had recorded as having let “walk” nearly a year before were found at the murder scene of Terry. The details of the origin of the weapon used in Zapata’s murder are not clear. – From SipseyStreetIrregulars

CBS  News (yah, I know, CBS?) reported on the story last week — months after Vanderbeogh and David Codrea, who writes at The Examiner.com —  both men 2nd Amendment Rights advocates — broke the story.  CBS’ Sharyl Atkisson reported it six days ago on March 3rd. (Roll Tape)

Who knew about this project?  Who authorized it? Who looked the other way?

Codrea and Vanderboegh have some of the answers. They’ve been working with whistle-blowing federal agents of the ATF, and doing whatever they can to get Congressional and media attention on this federal crime. Codrea and Vanderboegh have carefully documented everything:  dates, times, places, people, and motivation.

David Codrea

In fact, Codrea at The Examiner has a complete archive of everything that’s been written about this conspiratorial federal government project.

Now, months after breaking the story, it’s finally getting Congressional attention — its now under investigation by Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

During a Homeland Security oversight hearing today, Sen. Grassley pressed DHS secretary Janet Napolitano for information regarding CBS News’ report that the agency was knowingly trafficking guns to Mexico.   Big Sis Napolitano said she knew nothing of her agency’s possible involvement in a controversial ATF operation called “Fast and Furious.” (Roll tape)

I believe this is a crime of huge proportion and has some mighty interesting fingerprints on it — Big Sis, AG Eric Holder, and quite possibly “Her Royal Pantsuit,” Sec. of State Hillary Clinton  — maybe even the usurper President Obama.

They join us this evening with the story.

Codrea has put it all together in one comprehensive article that catalogs this stinking pile from its inception:

The following is a summary and time line of articles appearing on the Sipsey Street Irregulars blog and Gun Rights Examiner, reflecting original reporting on the developing “Project Gunwalker” story by Mike Vanderboegh and myself. That’s the purposely ironic name I assigned it, a parody of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive’s “Project Gunrunner,” and it refers to allegations by whistleblowing ATF insiders that:

  • ATF management was allowing potentially hundreds of semiautomatic firearms to be walked across the Mexican border in order to pad statistics used to further budget and power objectives.
  • Mexican authorities were kept in the dark, and protests that they should be informed were overridden, first by the Phoenix ATF office, and ultimately by higher-ups in Washington, DC.
  • A gun used in this operation was involved in a December 2010 incident in which a Border Patrol agent was killed.

The original allegations were posted on CleanUpATF.org. Vanderboegh and I, who have a history going back years of documenting allegations posted there, and pressing for congressional hearings to investigate the claims, were both contacted independently by various ATF insiders claiming to have corroborating information and documentation. Mike vetted his sources and I used my contacts to help validate that my informant was who he represented himself to be. Mike and I did what we could throughout our separate and coordinated investigations to test and corroborate what was being told. We also had a small circle of behind-the-scenes consultants, including firearms designer Len Savage, and a few other knowledgeable advisors, all with contacts and informed insights of their own, and all of whom have earned our trust over the years.

Our primary goal was to help arrange for protection for our sources, and quickly, as retaliation was feared. Because the allegations involved higher ups within the Justice Department, the added protection afforded by separation of powers was sought. Through various contacts and machinations that are documented in the following timeline, the whistleblowers came under the protective umbrella of Sen. Charles Grassley, a senior member of the Committee of the Judiciary.

Our secondary goal was to push this story outside our limited spheres of influence and into the “mainstream press,” so that it would be problematic to ignore or bury things. Again, making this happen has been an ongoing struggle, but we’ve seen the first cracks in the dam. The following time line will bring journalists just getting involved with this story up to speed by walking them though it, from its genesis to where we are today as major media outlets finally begin to take notice and get involved.

By way of a FAQ, two seem to be recurrent:

Will you have your sources contact us?

and

Will you provide us with copies of documentation?

The answer to both is “No.” The reason is one of protection. You will need to observe official proceedings and develop/consult sources of your own.

Here’s what’s happened so far, at least what I can publicly disclose:

  1. Ms King, I thoroughly enjoyed your interview with David and Mike. During the interview you mentioned a website that can supply e-mail addresses for congresscritters and Govt officials on the state and fed levels.

You in fact gave the address twice. I’m not sure if it’s my tired ol’ ears or possibly a regional accent on your part but I just can’t seem to understand the address.

Would you please post it or send same by e-mail to me?

    Thanks,
    [W3]

    1. The website where you can write directly to any and all members of Congress and grade their votes is http://GradeGov.com

Thanks for listening to the program last night. We’re keeping watch on this growing ATF scandal. And we’re encouraging our listeners/readers to write to Congress demanding investigation and appropriate legal action against those who have broken the law in the commission of this crime. Even if the facts take the culpability all the way to the White House.
